Offences & Penalties
The following penalties and fines shall be collected in line with the provisions of the Metro Railways (Operations & Maintenance) Act, 2002;

| 59 | Drunkenness, nuisance, spitting, sitting on floor of the train or quarrelling | Fine of Rs. 500, forfeiture of pass, ticket and removal from carriage |
| 60 | Taking offensive materials | Fine of Rs. 500 and damage caused by the offensive material |
| 61 | Taking dangerous materials | Fine of Rs. 5000 and/or imprisonment up to 4 years |
| 62 (1) | Demonstrate of any kind upon railway | Exclusion from attending demonstration and removal from premises |
| 62 (ii) | For writing, pasting in compartment or carriage etc | Removal from compartment, carriage and premises |
| 62 (iii) | For refusal to be removed | Fine of Rs.1000 and/or imprisonment up to 6 months |
| 64 (1) | Unlawful entry | Fine of Rs. 250 and/or imprisonment up to 3 months |
| 64 (i) | Walking on metro track | Fine of Rs. 500 and/or imprisonment up to 6 months |
| 67 | Obstructing running of trains | Fine of Rs. 5000 and/or imprisonment up to 4 years and removal from the premises |
| 68 | Obstructing officials on duty | Fine of Rs. 1000 and/or imprisonment up to 1 year |
| 70 | Interfering with means of communication in train or misusing alarm | Fine of Rs. 1000 and/or imprisonment up to 1 year |
| 71 | Altering, defacing or counterfeiting pass or ticket | Imprisonment up to 6 months |
| 72 | Defacing metro properties | Fine of Rs. 250 and/or imprisonment up to 2 months |
| 73 | Unauthorized sale of articles on metro railway | Fine of Rs. 500 and/or imprisonment up to 6 months |
| 74 | Maliciously wrecking a train or causing sabotage | Life imprisonment or rigorous imprisonment up to 10 years |
| 75 | Unauthorized sale of tickets | Fine of Rs. 500 and/or imprisonment up to 3 months |
| 76 | Maliciously hurting or attempting to hurt persons traveling by metro railway | Life imprisonment or imprisonment up to 10 years |
| 77 | Endangering safety of persons traveling by metro railway by rash or negligent act or omission | Imprisonment up to 1 year and/or fine |
| 78 | Damage to or destruction of metro railway properties | Imprisonment up to 10 years |
| 79 | Endangering the safety of persons traveling by metro railway by willful act or omission | Imprisonment up to 7 years |

| 69 (1) (a) | Traveling without ticket or pass | Fine of Rs. 50 plus the maximum fare / or 1 month imprisonment |
| 69 (1) (b) | Carrying away token without depositing on exit gate | Fine of Rs. 50 plus the ordinary single fare for the distance traveled or from originating station / or 1 month imprisonment |
| 69(ii) | Traveling beyond authorized distance | Fine of Rs. 50 plus the difference amount of fare / or 1 month imprisonment |
